Unique Baby Showers at L’Andana
One of our favorite types of events during the summer season are baby showers! It’s always so enjoyable to see how friends and family come together to make the day special for the mother to be. We’ve seen groups celebrate in a wide range of creative ways. If you’re in the middle of planning a shower and looking for a unique theme, we’ve put together a list of some of our favorite baby showers ideas! Scroll down to see the themes:
1. Book themed
Picking a beloved children’s book to use as the theme of the party is always a sweet touch, and there are so many potential options! From The Velveteen Rabbit, to Goodnight Moon, to Where the Wild Things Are, there are endless options. Have each guest bring a book to build a starter library for the baby, so by the time they're reading they have a great collection. As an added touch, guests can write a personalized note to the child on the inside cover, so every time they read the book they’ll think of them. We've seen guests use different storybook characters on table numbers, place cards, and even the cake. What a way to kick off the very first chapter of the baby's life!

2. Favorite animal
Using a favorite animal as a decorative theme is also a sweet option for a baby shower. Animals like bunnies or elephants can work well in décor - or committing to a theme like “woodland animals” or going all the way with a “circus” theme and full menagerie can be over the top and fun! As you know, we have beehives on-site at the restaurant and produce our own honey, so our favorite animal theme of all is a “What Will it Bee” party! You can get playful by incorporating honeybees, beehives, and yellow accents in the decorations. Include honey flavored treats and desserts or even send guests home with a small jar of honey and a honeycomb. More creative ideas here: http://luxelinen.org/what-will-it-bee-baby-shower/

3. Welcome to the World
Give the baby the warmest welcome with a “welcome to the world” shower. It’s an especially fun theme for parents who love to travel! Decorate with globes, maps and suitcases, and have fun thinking about all of the places he or she will go in their life! Invite guests to write out notes on postcards for the child to read when they’re old enough. Need more inspiration? 3. Gender Reveal
For those who are waiting to find out and share the gender of their baby to be, a gender reveal party is lots of fun! From cutting a slice of cake to reveal pink or blue, to popping an opaque balloon filled with pink or blue confetti, having the gender be a surprise is exciting for all in attendance. Let guests participate by making their predictions before the big reveal at a "Blue or Pink, what do you think?" station. They can make their guess by dropping pink or blue colored candies in a jar, or cast a vote on specially made cards. For couples who already know what they’re having, a traditional pale blue or pink theme is popular, but we love yellows, greens or a mix of bright colors as well.
