5 Best Activities in Burlington, MA

October 13, 2015

We opened here in Burlington, MA in 2007 and we couldn’t love the location more! To us, Burlington is home and we are thrilled to have such wonderful guests and neighbors. Burlington is a town with a long history and plenty to do. At L'Andana we like to offer guests visiting the area suggestions of where to go and what to see, so we’ve rounded up our list of the best activities in Burlington, MA.

1. Start the day with coffee at True North.

We enjoy supporting other local businesses and we’re fans of local coffee shop, True North. Founder Paula Salvucci grew up in Burlington and still lives in town with her family. She opened shop in 2009 just up the road from L’Andana. True North is a place where you can linger and relax and their coffee is top notch. They also offer hot tea, fruit smoothies and a wide variety of pastries.

2. Visit the sites along the Burlington Historical Trail.

If you’re a history buff, then the Burlington Historical Trail is for you. One of our most prominent sites is the Francis Wyman House, which is a National Landmark. It was built in 1666, making it one of the three oldest homes in Massachusetts. Other places of interest include the Old Burying Ground (pre-1736) on Bedford St. and Grand View Farm which was a stop-over spot for stagecoaches traveling between Concord, New Hampshire and Boston. There are numerous other sites along the trail and you can see the full list.

3. Spend some time shopping.

Burlington is also a great town for shopping. Between the Burlington Mall, Middlesex Commons, and Wayside Shopping Center, there are plenty of options. When shopping, we start at the Burlington Mall, an upscale shopping center by Simon Malls. They have everything from Burberry to Anthropologie to J. Crew, and are open daily from 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM. If we can’t find what we’re looking for there, Middlesex Commons and Wayside Shopping Center also provide numerous options, from fashion to home goods.
